Sheepski Designs Chic

Hello. Today I'm sharing these 2 cards I made for the Design Team for next weeks challenge over at TTCRD. The challenge is sponsored by Sheepski Designs and her lovely digital images are over on her Etsy Shop, you can win 3 of her lovely images in this challenge.

I created these cards using a digital background to base the girls on. I knew I wanted a stripey, floral background so I created these in Serif Craft Artist. I then imported the images onto my background and printed out. I coloured them with pencils corals and pinks, then overlaid with clear sparkle pens, then mounted onto some  black card.  I finished off adding the sentiment on some foam pads so it floats on the card. Shame the photo doesn't pick up the shimmer.  They really do sparkle!

I love the versatility of digital images as you have so much creative scope.

I love the way you can resize them to fit your chosen craft project or overlay them over

a background.  I use digital products a lot in my crafting. They don't take up space and

they can be stored in theme order on your computer.

Bird Sprite

Hello. Today I'm sharing with you my latest make using my new stamps by Pink Ink Designs. I absolutely love their beautiful unique designs.

This card was created using the Bird Sprite stamp set and layered onto some matching blue card stock on to a 7 x 7 card base. I created the base by cutting 2 x squares of card stock one 7 x 7 and the other 7 x 8 and scoring at 1 inch. I glue the flap with Collall glue onto the 7 x7 base to create a secure 7 x 7 card blank. I use this technique for most of my larger card blanks.  I coloured  the design using a variety of pencils and markers.  Then finished it off by adding the sentiment to match the fairy wing for some added interest.

Design Team Card - Sherry West Art

Hello, this afternoon I am sharing my design team card for the challenge over at Through The Craft Room Door, sponsored by Sherry West Art.  This is such a cute image and I decided to colour her using pencils.  I manipulated the image into some craft soft ware to create the background.  She could be fussy cut out I suppose but I wanted her framed so I used Serif Craft Artist.

Check out the challenge over at TTCRD for this weeks fun challenge

Happy Dog A Special Card for Father's Day

Hello. Today I am sharing with you a card that I've made for my  our lovely dad. It has been tough on him this last 6 months, on all of us really,  as just before Christmas and a few days after their 50th Wedding Anniversary our wonderful mum lost her fight with cancer, it was a very sudden and aggressive illness and a shock to us all. We all somehow managed to get through Christmas and tried to pick up the pieces. Then Coronavirus hit and our poor dad has had to shield due to his own health issues. The fear and grief he must have felt and is still feeling is beyond words.

The card I've made for him features a gorgeous staffy. Mum and dad adore staffies and our mum would have rescued every single one if she could have. I know she will be smiling at this card and I know it will bring a smile to our dad's face. So I think the stamp entitled "Happy Dog" is very fitting tribute for a very special dad.

I stamped the dog with different coloured blues from Dew Drop inks.  I then coloured with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I fussy cut the Happy Dog stamp  out  and added foam stickers and adhered  to a sage green backing paper,  which I digitally printed the leaf design border directly on to.  I then emphasized the border  with my alcohol markers and gelly roll white pen for more definition and added the Happy Dog to.

Lavender Fairy

Hello, today I'm sharing with you this special card I have made using the Lavender Fairy stamp I've recently acquired. It's a beautiful large wooden stamp. I coloured here with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers in tones of pinks and lilacs and green.  I wanted the fairy to the be central focal point, therefore I used a lovely nesting oval from the Card Making Magic range Lacey Ovals and layered the oval onto some matching lilac card.  I wanted to make the oval a bit more fancy so I added a some faux pearls and fancy corners that come with the ovals set.  I don’t normally add 3D flowers to my cards, however I thought the flowers really added some extra to the card.  I chose the whole colour scheme based around the fairy colours.

I then added a matching plain lilac insert with scalloped edges and left it blank. I never really know whether to add verses or not to my cards, so I tend to leave them blank, what do you all do I always see lovely card fronts but never the inside of the card, accept on Christina’s Griffith’s Card Making Magic, now her cards are very beautiful inside and out.

A closer look at the Lavender Fairy.  Her wings are shimmery as I overlaid with clear sparkle pen. I choose purples and lavender and subtly blended into her sage green top.

Through The Craft Room Door DRS Challenge Design Team Card

Hello, I’m sharing my  design team make with you for their latest challenge over on Through The Craft Room Door ( TTCRD) .  This challenge is sponsored by D.R.S Designs Rubber stamps and the prize is $20 voucher for their online store.  This card was created using their Feather stamp which I stamped over some pink card stock and fussy cut , I then intensified the feather details with coloured pencils.  I choose pink to pair with white to make it really stand out and adhered the feathers  to a strip of  aqua blue water coloured background card and distressed the edges with some pink ink and  used some pink strips on the edges.  I thought this complemented the aqua and white colours, then added some sparkle pens  in bright pink  and splattered over the aqua watercolour card.

I then added a Happy Birthday sentiment to the front of the card and adhered some string to the feathers.

Details of the challenge  can be found over at TTCRD

Modern Blooms

Hello.  I'm sharing this card I made using the new Altenew Magazine Box Kit, I picked this up from Asda last week.  I love craft magazines they offer such good value for money and are a great way to build up your crafty stash.  The magazine was £12.99 very reasonable considering you get these amazing Modern Blooms layering stamp set, matching die, stencil and lovely coordinating papers.  The magazine has some great inspiration ideas to get you going.  I absolutely love Altenew stamps but sometimes find them a bit tricky to layer up.  I have invested in some inks ( memento dew drops ) and these seem to layer well on practice.

On this card I decided to use my W & N watercolours to create the stripey background following the step by step in the magazine.  In the mag, they use Tim Holtz Oxides,  however I love using watercolours and they recreate a similar effect by lifting out the watercolour using a damp sponge.  I used mixed media cardstock and created a ombre effect with the watercolours.  I then used the stencil supplied and lifted off areas of the watercolour when it was almost dry, added some watercolour splashes using a loaded paintbrush then flicked the colour on.  The card stripes were then cut in varying thickness and placed on the card front.

I used the coordinating papers and die cut 3 flowers and finished them with some sparkle pens.  Fussy cut out some leave and adhered to the card.  I finished with the sentiment from Spring Flowers by Pink Fresh stamp set  that came with Creative Stamping issue 81.
